Spread of the language
Because of this very unique mix of languages, the spread was very slow. Frederick decided he was going to travel around the United States in order to try to spread this new dialect. Attached is map of all the locations he visited.

The language was originally spread throughout Oakley, Kansas. Because it was invented within the Mortimer family, only the close family members could speak it. Once Frederick and Joanna created a strong foundation, Frederick traveled places where he thought there would be a mix of people that had exposure to most of those languages. As he made his way around the U.S. many people were interested in learning about the variety in mixture involved in the language. The New York Times wrote an article discussing this new dialect. "A Village Invents a Language All Its Own" written by Ned Fernandez spread quickly amongst people. In his article, he interviews a fluent Mortinana speaker,
“These young people have developed something entirely new,” he said. “Mortiana is clearly a mother tongue.”
Frederick was able to recover an old recording of his son Zeth first speaking the language
